Agents

AI agents can sign you up, size your offset and report the tokens they use for you. Each one needs your approval, and you can revoke it any time.

What agents can do

An agent is an AI assistant or app acting for you, such as a chat assistant, a coding agent, or an MCP client like Claude Desktop or Cursor. Once you approve it, an agent can:

Report usage
Log the input and output tokens of each conversation it runs for you. Reported tokens are weighted the same way as connected sources.
Set your plan
Pick one of the four usage bands for your monthly offset.
Connect a source
Add a provider key to SettingsEstimate sources for you. It shows up and behaves like one you added yourself.
Read its own log
See the usage it reported and the band list.
No agent can add a card, charge you, or change your email. Payments only start when you turn on billing yourself.

Approving an agent

  1. 1The agent asks to connect with your email address. If you have no account, one is created for that email.
  2. 2We email you an approval link naming the agent and its operator. Nothing happens until you click it. Links expire after 14 days; the agent can ask again for a new one.
  3. 3The link opens Approve agent with the agent's name, description, operator email and access type. Click Approve followed by the agent's name. The link works once.
  4. 4Sign in at tokenoffset.com/dashboard with the same email to see the account. Accounts an agent created are yours like any other.

An agent can only send one approval email per address per hour. If you didn't ask for it, ignore the email. The agent gets no access.

Shared or exclusive

The agent picks one when it asks to connect, and the approval page shows which.

Shared
You and the agent both use the account. This is the default.
Exclusive
Records that the agent is meant to be the only one acting on the account. You can still sign in with a magic link and revoke it.
Exclusive

Managing agents

Connected agents

Agent name
Asked to connect and is waiting for your approval link to be used.
Pending
Agent name
Approved, with the approval date and the operator's email, which opens a message to them.
Revoke
Asks you to confirm, then cuts the agent off immediately. Usage it already reported and any plan it set stay on your account.

Revoked

Agent name
Agents you revoked, kept for the record. To let one back in, the agent has to ask again and you approve a new link.
